More important events

1. Between 1910 and 1920, before the construction of the current building, was located the first Telephone Center of Guantánamo. 
2. In August 1947 a voracious fire destroyed the building totally. 
3. In the first half of 50’s conclude the reconstruction of the building that would provide with accommodations to the Martí Hotel. 
4. In 1959 the Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Rúz accompanied by Efigenio Aimejeidas Delgado stayed in the Martí Hotel in his second visit to Guantánamo to continue his trip towards Puriales de Caujerí. 
5. After nationalization at the beginning of the 60’s Hotel Martí was operated by the Company of Lodging and Recreation of Commerce. 
6. In 2006 the Martí Hotel was closed for a complete renovation.
